I’ve tried therapy before, and it didn’t work. Will it be different with you?

First question back to you. Do you believe that therapy can work for you? Do you want it to work? If you answer yes, then we’ve got a good start. If you’re not sure or don’t think it can work, then let’s establish what we both need to make it work. All therapists have different styles and approaches, and it is important to make sure you ‘click’ with your therapist. I require a consultation before moving forward together to give both of us the opportunity to ask questions and get to know each other.

My approach to therapy brings in a level of humility that seems to resonate with most.

You are the expert on you, and I work to help you find the answers within you. I’ll be your biggest champion and work collaboratively with you on your path to wellness.

Is therapy right for me?

Naturally, I believe that therapy is beneficial for everyone. I don’t believe that people ever go out in the world feeling regret because they went to therapy. I believe that people feel empowered because they actively sought out an opportunity to be a better version of themselves. In therapy, you always learn something deeper about yourself that you are then fortunate enough to share with those you encounter on a daily basis. Ultimately, your therapy changes your world and the world around you benefits by the deeper, more meaningful you.

Why do people seek out therapy?

Some seek therapy out because of a specific problem, or sometimes to get to know themselves better or to grow. Many clients come to me when they feel ‘stuck’ and are desperate for change. I serve as a change agent for clients in variety of areas, but some of my areas of expertise are as follows:

  • Adolescent Issues
  • Anxiety
  • Codependency
  • Depression
  • Boundary Setting
  • Communication Skills
  • Life Transitions
  • Family-of-Origin Issues
  • Trauma

How long should I go to therapy?

It depends. However once we begin to work together, we’ll establish a plan to get you grounded. Unlike many therapists, my goal is to get you the tools you need so that you can move on with your life without therapy. I’ll be here if you want to return and work on something else. To this day, I feel very lucky because many of my clients annually check in with me to let me know how they are doing. I’m their biggest champion, and I want to hear how they are successfully managing life’s challenges.

Do you accept insurance? How does insurance work?

I am an out of network provider, which means I do not accept insurance directly.

Is therapy confidential?

Yes. As your therapist, I am bound by law to protect your confidentiality. The exceptions to this are if you are a danger to yourself or others.

I’m a teenager. Is my therapy still confidential?

Yes. As your therapist, I am bound by law to protect your confidentiality. There are exceptions to confidentiality and those are discussed thoroughly at your first appointment.
